First date

What a day!!! What a day it was :) Today was Evan's first date! Evan's girlfriend ( he he) Katie and her mom invited us to attend the Houston's Children's Symphony :) We couldn't have been more thrilled! Evan got to pick out and wear his first tie :) It has robots on it and of course has matching socks :) yes, I know this will not last long so I am doing it while I can ha ha. It was truly magical :) We all had a wonderful time!!! I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story :)
Here is my hansom little devil waiting for his date :)
They came to get us...it is a new generation you know he he...really they already have 2 car seats in there car so it was really nice :)
We were like 6 rows back!!! I mean really- how cool is that!!!
Me and my big man!!! I could just eat him up :) There is no picture of Evan and his date in there seats because we were told to put our cameras away :( However, Evan and Katie sat next to each other and it was so cute!!! I nearly shed a tear when Katie leaned over and whispered Evan...he said yeah and she said I love you!!! Be still my heart....

After the show they let the children play some of the instruments! So cute :)
Go Evan Go...
Oh ya baby that is loud :)
They also did a craft...Our little prince and princess....Or if us mommy's had our way the future Mr. and Mrs. :) he he Can we still do arranged marriages?

Evan putting his arm around his date :) he he We decided to continue this spectacular date by dinning at the downtown Aquarium :) Thank goodness for the fish because the wait was defiantly longer than expected...
His perfect first date was ended with ice cream :)

Thank you Kirsten and Katie for such a memorable day! We had a wonderful time with you guys and look forward to our next date :)

Walking down the trails of life :)

Oh sweet nature how we needed you today...How is it that I have less patients with Evan on the days he goes to school? It doesn't make sense- I get a break right... I should be refreshed and ready to greet my love child right...And so I was. I picked him up and I was excited to be with him again :) He however was one grumpy little man!!! The grump-o-pot-a-mus could not be broke. No matter what I said or did this little dude just was not going to get over himself- I really thought it was going to take some food and a VERY early bed time...However, after being a grump-o-pot-a-mus from the time he got in the car all through story time and even at the beginning of our park adventure...It just took a good long nature walk to snap out of it :) Hallelujah because mommy doesn't do to well with a grump-o-pot-a-mus for to long :)
Oh sweet nature thank you for the help today :)
Did you hear that???
I got a stick...
Tracks... Maybe they are cheetah tracks! (says Evan)
Nope...no cheetahs today...just a nice long nature trail walk :)
I've got the stick though just in case :)

Speaking of trails...today while I was driving I saw some trail riders heading out!!! I sooooo LOVE this time of year! Well, spring that is. I love to see the trail riders and get all excited about the rodeo! We really don't do to much with the rodeo but take Evan to see the animals and such but I just love how it is all Texas-ed out and cowboy- ed up. I can't wait for Evan to get all his giddy up cloths on :) yew ha!!! And then comes the bluebonnets...LOVE IT!!! And Easter...and the pictures with the live bunny's :) And Evan's birthday ( funny I just realised I put Evan's before mine- I guess ours really don't count when we have kids :) he he) And our wedding anniversary and well then it is almost summer :) But spring...spring is approaching and how I love it so :)

Yes... I was at a stop sign when I took these pictures and no no one was behind me :)

Yesterday...it snowed!!!

It snowed yesterday!!! I was going to tell you this yesterday but by time I got around to it, it was just so late I keep falling asleep in my chair :) This was the second time it snowed here this winter. The first time it stuck to the ground a bit :) This time it it melted as soon as it hit the ground. It was cool though :) When I picked Evan up from pre school and we were coming in the house he was mad it was raining...he said why does God think we need rain! I told him because God knows best and if he thinks we need rain then I guess we do. Then Evan said doesn't God know I don't like rain! And that statement was followed by a loud errrrrrrrrrrr sound! :) He he Well he was all kind of excited when I told him it was snowing!!! The best part for him I think was being able to play with our neighbor girls. He sooooooo loves them and we do not get to see them much.
This was the first picture I took of him outside and he was looking at me...but my camera wasn't fast enough...he heard the neighbor girls call his name and he was outta here!!! :)
Samantha, Hannah and Evan catching snow flakes :)
The three goof balls trying to catch some flakes with there tongues :)
Samantha was going to show me a big flake but she decided to eat it :) he he
Here's my little snowflake head :) he he

It was really cool that a few other neighbors came out as well :) Good to see everyone come out to enjoy a little winter bliss. I'd say because how often does it snow in Texas but it has now snowed twice and it has been unusually cool here so who knows maybe we will get one more batch of flurries before spring is sprung :) Oh ya...and as we were walking back into the house Evan said Thank you for the snow God!!! So cute :)

Life through the lens of a three year old

The essence of living is discovering. Indeed, it is the joy of discovery that makes life worth the effort. ---Vijay Krishna

Evan has had his new camera for a week now and boy has he had a blast! I like that it keeps him busy but it also has shown me patients :) I also have enjoyed reviewing his pictures with him :) He is quite the photographer and let me tell you this child knows no stranger!!!

WARNING: This may be the longest post in history! So grab a beverage and get comfy or we will see you on the next post :)

A week in review....through the lens of Evan...
A lovely self portrait :) he actually makes this face with every picture he takes :)

We must ALWAYS stop for flowers :)
His new friend Cameron...Nice to meet you Cameron :)

A guy by the park with his puppy-
Puppy!!! Her name is Emma :)
The view from the top of the play ground
The view from the top of the slide as a 3 year old :) It actually looks kinda scary to me :)
Evan trailing behind taking pictures :)
Baby Tess...Tristan's sister :)
Ummm Evan- you just got his legs...no mommy it is a picture of the wheel :) Wow your right Evan it is a great picture of the wheel...you are a wonderful photographer :)

That looks like one big bowl :) We both definitely see things on 2 different levels :) I guess I always thought he sees what I see but really he sees it on the height of a 3 year old...kinda cool to see things in that perspective :)
ya, um I am sorry Sir see my son just got this camera and he is really excited and yes he is asking for your permission to take your picture... Thank you so much...Evan lets leave this nice man alone :) Yes honey I know I said you must ask people if you can take there picture before you take it but really... we don't have to ask everyone!!! :)
These girls even posed for you :) ( they came before the guy above)

Using the banks blocks while waiting for an hour :)
Taking a picture of himself in the new security TV at the bank

This one took me a min...oh ok ya your right this is a picture of the wheel of your stroller...
Our sweet ride! It looks really big through the lens of Evan :)

Pictures while having to sit in a buggy
Evan...what are you taking pictures of now??? The TV...What TV? I guess when I am shopping at Walmart I am focusing on my list and getting out as fast as possible I didn't even know they had a TV in the middle of an isle...
As I am focused on my list he is the observant one...Later when we reviewed his pictures I notice what he experienced at the store...He found a balloon :) I guess it hit me I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off and he in his innocence sees a balloon :) I love him!!!

I like this shot he took :) I know they are just oranges...but I think it looks cool :)
This was a toy in the toy store at the mall- cute shot buddy!

This sweet lady found him and his camera so adorable she actually knelt down so he could get her in the shot easier...what did he do??? He got down even lower...silly thing :) She said she misses the days when her two children now 22 and 25 were Evan's age :( Gosh is there not a way we can just make them stop growing! I know one day that will be me telling someone else the very same thing :(
I was impatient and really didn't want to wait for him to take this shot...I think it turned out cool- then we got in line behind the lady in the picture above and it made me realise- Hey Cory...slow down...sometimes it's just about the journey not the destination :)
Ummm ok we have another rule...no taking pictures in the bathroom :)

I am not sure of the next 2 little girls names but they were all watching TV together at the Gymboree store...I herd him say can I take your picture :)
When I got a little closer the girl in the picture before
this one was holding his camra and he was giving her a little toutorial...ya umm sweetie lets not have the 2 year old using your camra :) It was really nice of you to share though :)

When we were reviewing the picures there were a million chair pictures. And out of those million 2 captured what he was going for. Do you see it? Yep he wanted to get a picture of the leaf in the chair :) The other one was a bird on a chair :) Patients...something we both teach each other :)
I had to look at the next two shots for a good while before I figured it out... why can you see the light bulbs in this picture??? OH MY because he climed up to the top of my camapee bed with his camra to get the shot!!! Ya...that's nice :)
Does anyone need a stunt photographer??? :)

He needed a subject so he got two blocks put them like this and took there picture :)
Yes, this is a napkin :)
And the bananna- before he ate it :)
His Daddy at Chineese New Year
Ummm Evan...

Ok good job asking her if you can take her picture- maybe next time you will get her head :) hehe
Good job...she does have a head :)
